A&R Manager James Ellett

James Ellett is an Artist Manager and A&R Manager at Modest! Management, the team behind One Direction, Little Mix, Olly Murrs is a regular Judge at Open Mic UK.

Background in the music industry

Artist Manager and A&R Manager James Ellett, started his career as an assistant at Prestige Management, working with acts including; McFly and The Vamps. After scouting a number of promising artists, which later went on to achieve chart success, he secured his first A&R position within the record label and publishing arm of UK radio giant Global.

During his 5 year stint at Global he worked with; The Wanted, Lawson, Jungle, Ellie Goulding and The Vamps amongst others. In 2014, James moved to Los Angeles be apart of Global’s US start up-operation, working as an A&R Manager for the publishing and management arms of the company. On his return to London a year later he joined Modest! Management, and as well as managing a number of major label acts, James is a key part of building Modest’s new publishing venture, AMLOR music publishing.
